Though Lyle Lovett originally entered the music scene in the 80s as a solo country artist, he quickly carved out his own niche with a distinctive sound that pulls influences from country, folk, swing, pop, rock and 1970s singer-songwriters. It was Lyle’s second album, “Pontiac,” which got him mainstream attention and eventually led to the formation of the legendary His Large Band. Over the past two and a half decades, six of Lyle’s albums have reached Gold Record status and every album since 1989’s Lyle Lovett & His Large Band has broken into the U.S. Top 100 Albums chart. His new album “Release Me” displays his late career trend of cover songs and two originals “The Girl With the Holiday Smile” and “Night’s Lullaby”. His new album and stage performance is one that is not to be missed.
