JW (John Willis)
Weekday Mornings 5:30-10am
I was born a very large baby in the year 1960 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank, California. After moving around a half dozen times or so, I sort of began to grow roots here in New England beginning in 1973. So why radio? Well...my father worked in radio, and television, and hosted a few different shows in different cities. A very cool job…and I wanted to be just like him. Although I realized the TV part wouldn’t work due to my “radio” face.
I have been in radio for over 30 years, and have been working at Country 102.5 since 1994. Since 1997 I have been host of the morning show. For 10 years I have had the privilege of sharing the morning show with the very lovely and talented Lori Grande. Lori, and Hank Morse, who handles traffic every morning, are the best folks to work with! Very easy going, and fun. I’m sure they would say the same of me…if they were offered lots of cash.
Oh, and can I just say how much I hate that pic of me? Sheesh. Hideous. OK, well anyway, to continue...
I currently reside in Holliston with my lovely wife of 23 years, Sarah, and our three wonderfully adorable daughters, Meghan, Kaitlyn, and Amanda. Along with the humans, we have four cats, Bella, Sampson, Ron and Harry, plus a yard full of wild vermin. As for stuff outside of radio, I enjoy reading and hangin' out at the beach.
I love sports, with New England Revolution being my favorite team. I also am a huge fan of the Pats, Celts, Sox, B's, Breakers and Barcelona.
My favorite artists? How about Keith Urban, Darius Rucker, Lady Antebellum, Zac Brown, T-Swizzle, Vince Gill, Gary Allan and The Band Perry. Fav TV shows? How 'bout NCIS, and, yea, I'm STILL into Survivor, oh, and, of course, Downton Abbey, (another glass of port please, Carson).
My favorite movies of all time are...Jaws, any of the Harry Potter series, all of the Bourne flicks, (except "Legacy" - hey, No Matt Damon!) The Blind Side, and anything from Disney. How about books? Deathly Hallows...Pillars of the Earth...and anything from Edward Rutherfurd. OK, add most of Ken Follett's stuff too.
That's enough for now...if you're still awake. Thanks for pretending to be interested. :)
