2011 Adoption Option
9am - 11am
In partnership with the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE), Jordan’s Furniture will host the 2011 Adoption Option, an event for anyone interested in the adoption of children or sibling groups from foster care. It will take place from 9am to 11am at the Jordan’s store in Reading, MA on Sunday morning, September 25th. Guests can learn about the adoption process, talk to social workers one-on-one, and hear experiences from adoptive families. Children’s activities will also take place. The 4th Annual Cape Cod Bay Challenge is in support of the Christopher's Haven a Chartiy organization that gives housing to those who are receiving Cancer treatment in MGH. This organizations only request is to get the word out about this great and very unique event. They want everyone to know the importance of organizations like this and how we can support them in their efforts. 4th Annual AGS (Alagille Syndrome) Walk For A Better Life
The 4th annual Alagille Syndrome Walk for a better life is a wonderful charity event supporting the efforts to raise money against Alagille disorder. Last year this organization raised almost $20,000 dollars in donations for research and testing. This is a genetic disorder that effects every major organ in the body and with your help we can help find a cure. The walk will take place September 18th at the Cape Cod Canal, a Cookout will be provided to all the runners. Camp Harborview 2011 Harbothon 5K
Camp Harbor View and Deutsche Bank Partners for Charity present the 2011 Harborthon 5K. The race take place on Thursday, July 28, 2011. Camp Harbor View is a non profit organization supporting inner city Boston children who never got the chance to live through the real camp experience. The event will consist of a Island 5k Road Race and a BBQ Beach Party afterward. At this BBQ food and drinks will be available to everyone. Ferry Transportation is available to all guests and entertainment will be provided by the great Ultimate 80s tribute band Rubix Cube. All proceeds for this event will benefit the Camp Harbor View foundation. So come for a day of fun and support a great organization! Click this link register to join the race. Ball in the House
Second Parish in Hingham
Ball in the House, a popular contemporary vocal group that takes a cappella to the highest level, will be performing at Second Parish Church, 685 Main Street, Route 228, Hingham on Saturday, May 8th at 3 p.m.    The all-male, Boston-based quintet has astounded audiences of all ages on its national tours, creating distinctive pop and R&B harmonies with its unique use of vocal drums/beatbox and vocal bass.   Tickets to hear the group – winner of the 2009 Best of Boston Award for musical entertainers – are available online now at brownpapertickets.com and at the Second Parish Art Show, 685 Main Street, Route 228, Hingham, starting May 5th.   Advance sale tickets, $15; at the door, $20. A wine-and-cheese reception will follow the performance in conjunction with the church art show. All are welcome. The concert is supported in part by the Hingham Cultural Council. The Animal Medical Center of New England at 168 Main Dunstable Road in Nashua is sponsoring a combined blood drive on Saturday, May 21, 2011 from 10:00am to 3:00pm. The Red Cross will be accepting blood donations from humans, while the Animal Medical Center will be testing dogs and cats for the potential of donating blood to the pet population. Doctors and staff from the Animal Medical Center will be available to administer routine blood tests for donor pets at no cost to pet owners. The American Red Cross Blood Services supplies blood products to local medical facilities; and the Animal Medical Center serves the community as a regional blood bank for local veterinary hospitals and its own 24-hour emergency pet care center. Registration is recommended, but not required. Contact the Red Cross at 1-800-RED-CROSS, or for pet donation, contact the Animal Center of New England at 603.821.7222.
