Amanda Gabbard, beauty and makeup specialist at the Guerlain Spa in the Towers of the Waldorf Astoria New York, gives us suggestions for transitioning from the office day look to evening glam.
“No need to bring 12 more products in your purse to switch from your day look to an evening on the town. All you need is the same eyeliner you used in the morning, a small duo eye shadow, face powder and lipstick or gloss.”
Amanda’s three easy steps to transition from day to night:
- First, apply a darker, more dramatic line on the top lash line with an additional wing tip at the end for fun flair. You can also line the lower inner water rim for added nighttime drama.
- Second, use a small duo eye shadow (one with dark and light shades) to create a smokey eye using the darker shade in the lid’s crease and the lighter color for highlight under the brow and along the inner corner of the eye. Easily used for multiple purposes, you can even take your finger and swipe a bit of the lighter shade on the upper cheekbone for shimmer!
- Last, use a skin-tone matching powder all over the face and a swipe a colorful gloss or lipstick on the lips to bump up the look.
