Breast Cancer Awareness - Part 3
by Laurie Gail

OuidadAs October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the beauty industry is kicking into high gear with a wide variety of products to raise breast cancer awareness through related charities. In its final part, this column will continue to highlight inspirational points of view from experts in the field and showcase cool products in support of the cause.

Renowned hair industry icon Ouidad has a personal interest in the cause. Ouidad, a breast cancer survivor, founded Curls for a Cure® in 2005 to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. “In 2002 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, the same disease that took my mother's life. Fortunately, I was treated and made a full recovery, but I vowed to never let recovery be the end of my battle.” – Ouidad

Curls for a Cure® is a donation program on Ouidad.com that welcomes visitors to make a donation of their choosing toward Breast Cancer research. In addition, she matches any amount donated 365 days a year!
