Breast Cancer Awareness - Part 2

As October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the beauty industry is kicking into high gear with a wide variety of products to raise breast cancer awareness through related charities. In its second part, this column will continue to highlight inspirational points of view from experts in the field and showcase fab products in support of the cause.

For the sixth consecutive year, Shiseido Cosmetics America will partner with Cosmetic Executive Women to support their philanthropic arm, Cancer and Careers. By donating $5 for every Lacquer Rouge in Disco sold in October, Shiseido will give back to the non-profit organization dedicated to supporting working women living with cancer. 

jane iredale celebrates its fifth year of partnership with the national education and support organization Living Beyond Breast Cancer. Every year for the past five years, jane iredale has introduced a special product with 100% of the profits from sales going to the LBBC. Cherish Lip Fixation is a two-in-one product with a pink lip stain on one end and a shimmery gloss on the other. 

Palmer’s, makers of the classic Cocoa Butter Formula skin care products, is going pink once again. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Palmer’s will donate 15% of sales of specially-marked bottles—with a minimum donation of $100,000, to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®

SHE by SO.CAP.USA Pink Hair For Hope extensions help raise funds for BCA. Their 7th Annual Pink Hair For Hope campaign goes through October. Clients in participating salons who donate $10 or more to Pink Hair For Hope receive a pink hair extension. As in years past, 100% of net proceeds benefit various breast cancer charities.

BIOLAGE supports the Regis Foundation for Breast Cancer Research with the Colorcaretherapie BCA Kit. Bobbi Brown introduces her Pink Peony Set in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Illuminating Bronzing Powder in Pink Peony is paired with a Mini Face Blender Brush. Bobbi Brown will be donating $10 from the sale of each set during the month of October to benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

And if you’re looking for a gift idea, Nordstrom and glassybaby have partnered up to present Evelyn, a pink glass votive candle. glassybaby founder Lee Rhodes, a three-time cancer survivor, is donating 10% of the purchase price to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
