Elizabeth Arden just launched a philanthropic Pinterest campaign called ‘Pin It To Give It’ with long-time partner Look Good Feel Better. Look Good Feel Better is a national organization that provides beauty products and techniques to female cancer patients to help them deal with the appearance aspects of treatment. Until August 23, 2012, for every image repinned on the brand’s newly-launched Pinterest page, they will donate one eyeliner to the program.
Pacifica is known for their commitment to the environment by using recyclable and post-consumer materials, using local suppliers, and offsetting company travel by purchasing carbon credits. They recently announced a partnership with Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ocean Futures Society. Ocean Futures’ mission is to explore the global ocean and educate people to act responsibly for its protection. They will donate a portion of the proceeds from their newest Island Vanilla products (perfume, body butter, soap, body wash and candles) to the organization’s important work. (Available at Sephora.)
The Mary Kay Foundation has donated millions of dollars through its Beauty That Counts initiative to causes that change the lives of women and children everywhere who are affected by domestic violence. From September 16, 2012 through December 15, 2012, Mary Kay will donate $1 from the sale of each Limited-Edition Beauty That Counts NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss. The two gloss colors are Inspiring, a pearlescent shimmer, and Possibilities, a soft pink. Tanda Zap is an at-home zit zapping device that utilizes LED light therapy, warming and sonic vibration to eliminate acne-causing bacteria and clear skin. They have launched their Zap Bullying campaign to benefit STOMP Out Bullying! The brand is donating $7,000 to the national anti-bullying organization when they reach 5,000 ‘Likes’ on their Facebook page. To coincide with the partnership, this fall they will release blue Zap,a portion of the profits of which will also go toward STOMP Out Bullying and their efforts.
Cetaphil’s Moisturizing Cream is a bestseller, using their unique system of emollients and humectants to provide intense moisturizing. Their new special edition packaging benefits Camp Wonder. From September to December 2012, a portion of the sales from the cream will be donated to this camp for children with chronic skin diseases run by the Children’s Skin Disease Foundation. Kiehl’s just wrapped up their third annual Kiehl’s LifeRide for amFAR. The benefit motorcycle ride took place over 10 days and traveled from Miami to Washington, DC. Funds benefit amFAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, through events, social media and the sale of the Limited Edition Active Lifestyle Essentials kit, from which 100% of the proceeds will benefit amFAR.
SHE by SO.CAP.USA, presents its 7th Annual Pink Hair For Hope campaign during the months of September and October 2012, to raise funds in the hopes of finding a cure for breast cancer. Clients in participating salons who donate $10 or more to Pink Hair For Hope will receive a 100% natural pink hair extension. They can choose from professionally-bonded pink, crystal or feather hair extensions which attach to natural hair, or clip-in hair extensions to wear over and over again. As in years past, 100% of net proceeds from the Pink Hair For Hope campaign will go to various breast cancer charities.

Shiseido will donate $5 for every Lacquer Rouge in Disco sold in stores and online throughout the month of October 2012. The shade is a bright pink and leaves a lacquer-like finish. With the purchase of the new Dragon Fruit Lip Butter, The Body Shop kicks into an initiative called 1-2-3 Activism. Pick up the Dragon Fruit Lip Butter beginning in August 2012 and The Body Shop will give you a token. Take the token to the voting box, which will have three separate slots, each one for a different charity. Choose the local charity you want to support and drop in the token. The Body Shop will count the votes and help support local charities.
